Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026.

Who this is

Rayner Garage Retention ("RGR", "we", "us"), sole trader trading as Rayner Garage Retention, is the controller for the personal data described in this policy, unless stated otherwise. Contact: hello@raynergarageretention.co.uk. ICO registration: {{ICO_REG}}.

What this policy covers

This policy covers data collected through this website: the contact form and the free visibility check tool. It does not cover how a garage's own customer data is handled once RGR is delivering the paid service to that garage; that relationship is governed by a separate written data processing agreement provided to every client, summarised below.

Data we collect on this site, and why

WhatWhere fromWhyLawful basis

What we store from the visibility check tool

Under Google Maps Platform's terms, we may store a location's place_id indefinitely. Everything else Google returns must be fetched live each time and is not warehoused: names, ratings, review counts, reviews, and photos. Coordinates, if cached at all, are kept no longer than 30 days. We do not build or retain a database of prospect garages from Google Places data; the tool's live lookups are not stored beyond what's needed to email you your own result.

Retention

Contact form and tool lead submissions are kept for as long as reasonably needed to follow up on your enquiry, and are deleted or anonymised after 24 months of no further contact. If you become a client, your details are then held under the client agreement instead of this policy.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your data. Submitting the contact form or tool report triggers an email notification sent via our transactional email provider (Resend); that provider processes the message content solely to deliver it to us and does not use it for its own purposes. We do not share your data with any other third party except where required by law.

Google Maps Platform

The visibility check tool uses Google's Places API to look up your business and nearby competitors. Use of that tool is also subject toGoogle's Privacy PolicyandGoogle's Terms of Service, which are incorporated into this policy and our Terms of Use by reference.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@raynergarageretention.co.ukto exercise any of these. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to theInformation Commissioner's Office.

If you become a client: RGR as data processor

When RGR delivers the paid service, your garage's customer data (names, contact details, MOT and service history used to run reminders) is processed by RGR on your instructions, as your data processor. Every client receives a written data processing agreement covering this before any customer data is handled. RGR never shares or resells a client's customer data, and it is not used for any purpose beyond delivering that client's own service.
